Club Meeting 20th February 2017

Last nights meeting chaired by Adrian was fun, featuring two guests Fay and Catherine from West Kent both of whom contributed strongly to the evening. Fay delivered a practice A10 that was well received and superbly reviewed by Julie. Her subject was “what to do at 75 and 1/2″ and showed us that life clearly begins at 75. Although some regulars were away due to illness we welcomed back Barry, Becky and Peter who have been unable to join us of late. Peter delivered a thought-provoking speech, “sticking your head in the sand” which was eloquently reviewed and passed by Katy.

The topics session was chaired by Kent Area President Suzanne who chose subjects loosely related to Donald Trump as a theme. For some a challenging 3 minutes, however a great deal was learned and laughed at, especially when reviewed by Julian who had unfortunately forgotten his glasses.
The evening was rounded off by Will as general evaluator who succinctly reviewed the evenings proceedings.

Congratulations to our competitors at Kent Area for ably representing Chaucer and thanks to Carol for being our representative on the judging panels.

Congratulations to the winners of the Kent Area Competitions, Aly in the speech competition, Sue in the Topics (both West Kent SC) and Steve (Thanet SC) in the evaluation competition. Chaucer SC wish you all the best at the South Eastern Area Competitions.

Join us for our next meeting on 6th March.
