Club Meeting 3rd October 2016

The second meeting of the Chaucer season saw, no less than, three A1 speeches from new speakers,  Chaired by Peter, the evening kicked off with lots of energy  and Michael gave an excellent education speech identifying the differences and similarities between giving business speeches and public speaking, very entertaining.  All three speakers passed their assignment “making a start” in which we had topics as diverse as ” who am I”, ” why did I join speakers?” and ”  my quarter life crisis” with a decidedly international bent as Emma is Australian, Shufeng is Chinese and Peter is English.
Club president Adrian Hyner was the impromptu speaking chair and chose the tricky topic of Homonyms which provided a challenging and amusing series of short speeches. The evening wrapped up with excellent evaluation s by Phil for impromptu and Will as general evaluator. This was a supremely entertaining evening with a great deal of humour, great speeches and educational.
