Club Meeting 9th January 2017

Chaucer met for its first 2017 meeting of the year and what a meeting!  The evening was well chaired by Bryan.  Peter ran a superb education slot on how to express your personality in a speech.
A theme of exercise emerged for the speeches in this season of resolution. Alan gave his A2 (use of structure) speech on how the NHS has and would like to tackle getting the nation to exercise more, and was passed by evaluator Suzanne. Katie gave her A8 ( use of humour) which was passed in flying colours by Carol. Katie focused on how exercise has been part of her life and entering a new era of exercising pain free, in her special way!.
After the break a spirited topics session was run by Julian. Everyone chose their own topic on the theme of schooldays. There were some deep insights into our funny history at school.  This session was evaluated as a success by Adrian.
The evening was rounded off by Stewart as the General evaluator  giving a clear review of the evenings performances with constructive feedback and confirming that the evening was fun and successful. It was especially delightful to have Katie, Carol, Suzanne and Will  back at the club. We said a temporary goodbye to Shufeng who is returning to China until the Summer.

You are welcome to join us at our next meeting on Monday 23rd January 2017.
